For me this was one the most anticipated films of the first half of the year. This year has left a lot to be desired as zero movies have cracked the imdb top 250 in the first 5 months [X-Men: First Class is in the 230's right now from a June release]. So this action flick that I only knew little about, past the star, was at the top of my radar.
Liam Neeson is traveling with his wife to a bioengineering conference in Germany. He arrives at the hotel from the airport to discover that one of his bags has been lost. On the way back to the airport he has an accident. Was this a set-up? Are people after him? Was this just an accident? He wakes up in a hospital and talks the doctor into letting him get back to his wife quickly since she doesn't know where he disappeared to. Back at the hotel she denies knowing him. How is this possible? Is she in on this? Did the accident screw up his memory?
A lot about this action film is cookie cutter. Enough to be comfortable watching it but not bored. The identity question that the director and writer keep the audience in until the very end make this well worth your time. I could see myself forgetting this in the near future, but given a bad string of action films this was a very nice change.
