This was a war propaganda film during World War II based upon a theater in Poland. It starts just days before the Nazi's invade Poland and features Jack Benny and Carole Lombard. Lombard is best known for her roles in this film and My Man Godfrey. She died in a plane crash just after this film was released. This was her last film and a pretty good one.Her husband is played by Benny and Robert Stack plays a Lieutenant who is courting Lombard. When the Nazi's invade Stack escapes to London and joins a Polish fighter squad. When a spy gets sensitive information and goes after Lombard the Lieutenant goes on special assignment to save her.
The cast if the theater lends him a hand in catching the spy, including Benny, who is aware of how Stack feels about his wife. This has some very comical moments, but it is a war propaganda film trying to make the Nazi's look completely incompetent and the allies brilliant. Overall not a bad film and an easy watch.
