"Black Magic" (2008)

Surprise! The ESPN writer that made the top 10 sports documentaries of all time felt that a tv mini-series deserved to be considered a movie.

This documentary that aired on tv (hence the "" around the title), was about 4 and a half hours total. The writers did a *good job of taking many unnecessary tangents and hoping between multiple storylines [*sarcasm].

I really expected this to be a history of black athletes in basketball, but it really focused on the history of basketball at black colleges. Although interesting, there were many things that they wandered off to and away from basketball, that could have been used to cover a large amount of black basketball history they completely neglected. There is nothing about Wilt Chamberlain and his 100 point game. There is nothing about the West Texas team beating Kentucky.

I do actually know a good amount of basketball history, this this did not cover everything that it should have. Don't get me wrong there is some very interesting stuff here. But it is by no means all inclusive.
