Oh... so this has nothing to do with a parade... The title definitely made me overlook watching this film for a while. At over two hours a silent movie isn't appealing in the first place, but I am happy I finally watched it.
A film starring John Gilbert how acted in almost 100 silent films, and co-starring Renée Adorée a French born actress who got her break in this movie only to die of tuberculosis at the age of 35.
The plot of the film is that James Apperson [Gilbert], son of a rich businessman enlists and is shipped to France. He falls in love with Melisande [Adoree] but when his troop is called to the front line they are separated.
Just another example of a quality American silent film. Easy to follow subtitles, good pace for a silent film, and some really gripping war scenes for a silent movie, pretty good but I'm not watching it again.
