"Tradition!" This is a wonderful musical about the a changing world in pre-revolution Russia. The story revolves around a Jewish community and a father struggles to see his traditions broken by his daughters.The beauty of this film is that if you extract the song and dance it is a very well scripted storyline and entertaining in its own right. The songs feature some unique Russian dancing and good singing. My qualm with most musicals is their lack of storyline and songs so frequent that you feel you are just watching choreographed dubbed songs and not a movie.
This is one of the best musicals I have ever seen, with a well timed intermission this was easy to break up over two days and was well worth the time commitment.
