This musical will make you laugh at how cheesy it is. The story starts with the oldest brother going to town to get some supplies... oh yeah, and a wife. He manages to find a beautiful wife and get married that day!She returns home with him to find he has six rude and crude brothers, who all decide they now need wives. Luckily, they now have a woman around to give them all the advice they need... along with some wrong but successful advice from the oldest brother.
The axe scene is just over-the-top bad, and the sets are as well. The songs are entertaining, and the acrobatics at the barn raising are excellent. This is a timeless musical, one that I'm sure my children will be watching some day... so it looks like I probably will watch it again some day as well.
