A very strange film about a strange man. Arthur is a millionaire's son with nothing better to do with his time than drink and get in trouble.Dudley Moore's performance was pretty good. His humor makes me think Ricky Gervais was very much inspired by him. The plot is that he must get married to be allowed to keep his inheritance. The lady he is set to marry does not interest him, and he can't picture his life with her, even as immature as he acts.
He meets Liza Minnelli, an actress I can't really stand, honestly her movies are never going to be worth repeat a repeat watching for me... Barney Martin plays Minelli's father... you would know him as Morty Seinfeld. John Gielgud was a great duo for Dudley as the butler.
This was an interesting contrasting comedy to the typical films on the AFI 100 Laughs. Definitely not worthy of being in the top 50, so I'm ok with it. Also it was nice to watch something that wasn't black and white from the list.
