Julianne Moore, Dennis Quaid, and Dennis Haysbert (the All State Guy). Nominated for 4 Oscars in 2003, but winner of zero. This film was a little predictable and boring for me.
From the outside it looks as though Cathy (Moore) has the perfect life. Housewife, two kids, successful husband, and a bit of a socialite. When interviewed for a magazine her friendly relationship with her gardener is misconstrued and she gets labeled as a negro lover, learning that racism is very much alive in her town. She visits her husband working late at the office to find him kissing another man and her world starts to fall apart.
Depressing, well acted, sad, and exactly what you would expect from a film highlighting these issues. A good message but a forgettable movie overall.
